Get More Clicks on Google Ads
Aug 30, 2023This is how you can get more clicks in Google Ads in 2023!
There are three core changes you can make:
- Increase your Google Ads budget. (I know this is a simple one, but it also needs to be done in the right way.)
- Increase your CTR.
- Increase your KW quality score & ad rank.
In this article, I am going to show you how to review and focus on these three areas so you can supercharge the amount of traffic your website is getting through Google Ads in 2023.
For the first point about increasing your Google Ads budget, now it makes perfect sense that if you increase your daily budget in Google Ads, this will give you more clicks. However, I do want to make a very quick point that when you are increasing your budget in Google Ads, you need to follow the 20% rule.
👉 Small Budget Strategies for Google Ads
And this is that you only increase your daily budget by no more than 20% at a time. The reason for this is because if you go above this 20% level, you will throw your campaign into a new learning phase, and it is likely that you will see other metrics change, like your conversion rate or average CPC.
Now, if you are starting with a small budget like $10 or $20 a day, I will usually increase my budget by increments of $5 or $10, even if this is above the 20%. Otherwise, it just takes too long to scale your account.
But once you have budgets of $100 per day, you can use the 20% rule to scale your account quite quickly by increasing your budget by 20% every 5-7 days.
If you ever see that your conversion metrics suffer after a budget increase, you can wait a week and then re-increase your budget when you are more comfortable with your results.
For the next two ways that you can increase the number of clicks that your Google Ads campaign is getting.
You can do this by:
- Increasing your CTR.
- And increasing your KW Quality Score & Ad Rank.
What you are doing here is you are improving the quality of your ads so that it becomes more attractive for Google to show your ads.
Because remember, even though Google Ads is an auction-based system, the highest bidder or the company with the largest budget does not always win.
This is because Google not only takes into consideration how much you are willing to pay, but it also takes into account the:
- Likelihood that your ad will be clicked on.
- And the relevance of your ads to the user's search term.
This is because:
Google shows ads that are more likely to be clicked on because Google only gets paid when someone clicks on your ad. So, if your ads have a 5% higher CTR than your competitors, Google will show your ad over your competitors' ads. If your ad copy and landing page are highly relevant to the user's search term, Google will also show your ad over your competitors BECAUSE they want to protect the integrity of their ad platform. Because they know that if they continue to show poor quality ads, people will lose confidence in Google Ads and no longer click on ads.
So, that is how you can increase the number of clicks that your ads are getting with Google Ads.
